THE INGREDIENTS
ROSEWATER, ROSE ABSOLUTE AND ROSEHIP OIL
While it may seem that Rose extracts are a one-size fits all ingredient, each form is extracted from a different part of the plant and therefore has a different skincare benefit. Rosehip Oil, extracted from the plant’s seeds contains Vitamin A which soothes dry and inflamed skin; while Rose Absolute, extracted from the petals is renowned for it’s relaxing scent and toning qualities. Rose water, made by steeping rose petals in water - has been used for centuries to treat skin disorders such as Eczema and Rosacea due to it’s anti-inflammatory and moisturising properties.
CUPUACU BUTTER
Cupuaçu is a tree found in the Amazonian rainforests and is the national fruit of Brazil.The fruit of the tree contains a pulp which provides Cupuaçu butter, a plant-based alternative to lanolin which can cause allergic reactions in some.
Cupuaçu far outweighs lanolin and even Shea butter’s ability to absorb and retain moisture, holding up to 440% of its own weight in water.
Cupuaçu butter melts away dirt and debris whilst its renowned moisturising properties in combination with rosehip seed oil smooth and soften, restoring the skins natural humidity and elasticity.
POMEGRANATE ENZYMES
Pomegranates have been used in medicine and skincare for centuries. They contain proteolytic enzymes which work as natural, safe exfoliants to break down and digest dirt and product which has accumulated on the skin’s surface.
